1. Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Scotch Old Collegians Football Club Inc ("SOCFC", "the Club", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores and discloses your personal information in connection with the SOCFC Reverse Draw website (socfc.reversedraw.com). We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What we collect
- Contact details you provide when buying a ticket: your name, email address and (optionally) phone number.
- Your ticket selection — the square number(s) you choose and the time of reservation/purchase.
- Limited technical information — if a page error occurs, we may record a short error message, the page address and your browser type to help us fix faults. We do not use this to identify you.
- Payment is handled by Square. We do not collect or store your card numbers or banking details — these are processed directly by Square (see "Who we share it with" below).
How we use it
- To process your raffle entry and reserve your square(s).
- To contact you about your purchase and, if you win, about your prize.
- To keep accurate records of the raffle for the Club and for regulatory/audit purposes.
- To detect and prevent fraud, duplicate or invalid entries.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.
Who we share it with
We disclose personal information only to service providers who help us run the raffle, and only as needed:
- Square — payment processing.
- Supabase — secure database hosting for ticket and contact records.
- Vercel — website and application hosting.
Some of these providers may store or process data on servers located outside Australia (for example, in the United States). By using this site and providing your details, you acknowledge this overseas disclosure as permitted under APP 8. We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers protect your information.
How we store and protect it
Contact and ticket records are stored in a secured database with access restricted to authorised Club personnel. Buyer details are not publicly readable through the website's data interface. Note: the public board does display the first/display name written on each sold or reserved square, in the same way names appear on the physical board at The Pavilion. Do not enter a name you would not want shown publicly.
How long we keep it
We keep raffle records for at least 12 months after the draw, and longer where required to acquit the raffle or to meet record-keeping obligations under the Lotteries Act 2019 (SA), the conditions of our lottery licence, and our association rules. After that, records are deleted or de-identified.
Cookies and local storage
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. To improve your experience, your browser may temporarily save your in-progress purchase form and square selection on your own device (using "local storage") so a refresh doesn't lose your details. This is cleared automatically after a short period and when your purchase is submitted.
Your rights
You may ask us to access or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing info@socfc.com.au. If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first so we can resolve it. You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the "Last updated" date above.
2. Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the SOCFC Reverse Draw website and your purchase of raffle tickets ("squares"). By using the site or buying a ticket, you agree to these Terms and to the Raffle Terms in section 3.
Eligibility
- You must be 18 years or older to purchase a ticket.
- You must be located in Australia and able to be paid a prize lawfully.
Tickets, pricing and payment
- Tickets are AUD $100 each. There are 150 squares in total.
- Selecting square(s) and submitting your details reserves them for a limited time (currently 15 minutes) while you complete payment via Square.
- If payment is not completed within the reservation window, your square(s) are released and become available to others.
- A purchase is only confirmed once payment is received and the square is marked sold by the Club. Reservation alone does not guarantee an entry.
- In-person cash/EFTPOS purchases at The Pavilion are also recorded against the board.
Refunds and cancellations
Raffle tickets are generally non-refundable once purchased, except where a refund is required by the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law, or where a ticket was charged in error. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you believe you were charged in error, contact info@socfc.com.au.
Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to interfere with, probe, or disrupt the website, its database, or the payment process.
- Do not submit false, offensive, or impersonating names. The Club may remove or refuse any entry that breaches these Terms.
Availability and accuracy
The digital board mirrors the physical board and is kept as accurate as reasonably possible, but may not update instantly. The site is provided "as is"; we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to any consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, the Club is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant ticket(s).
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia, and you submit to the courts of that jurisdiction.
3. Raffle / Competition Terms
The SOCFC Reverse Draw is a fundraising raffle conducted by the Scotch Old Collegians Football Club Inc. Because the total prize value exceeds $5,000, it is conducted as a major lottery under licence no. [CBS major lottery licence no.], issued by Consumer and Business Services (CBS) under the Lotteries Act 2019 (SA) and the Lotteries Regulations 2021 (SA). The raffle is subject to CBS's conditions, which prevail over these Terms to the extent of any inconsistency.
The draw
- Tickets: 150 squares at $100 each.
- Draw date & place: Saturday, 15 August 2026 at The Pavilion, [venue street address].
- Format ("reverse draw"): squares are progressively eliminated; prizes are awarded to the squares remaining/eliminated at the defined points below. The Club's draw procedure and the regulator's conditions govern the exact method.
Prizes (total pool $7,000)
- 1st: $5,000
- 2nd: $1,000
- 3rd: $500
- 4th: $200
- 5th: $100
- First square pulled: $100
- Halfway square pulled: $100
The draw will proceed on the scheduled date. The Club's published draw procedure and the conditions of the CBS lottery licence govern exactly how prizes are awarded, including the treatment of any unsold squares. [Confirm how unsold squares are handled before go-live.]
Winners and prize claims
- Winners will be contacted using the details provided at purchase, and/or announced as permitted by the raffle authority.
- Prizes will be paid by electronic bank transfer within 14 days of the draw.
- It is your responsibility to provide accurate contact details. Unclaimed prizes will be dealt with in accordance with the raffle authority's requirements.
